The Lagos State Authorities has restated its dedication to implementing bodily planning legal guidelines inside its territory, together with the Commerce Truthful Complicated at Ojo.
The state Commissioner for Bodily Planning and City Improvement, Oluyinka Olumide, stated this in an announcement by Mukaila Sanusi, director of Public Affairs of the ministry, on Friday in Lagos.
He stated that though the Commerce Truthful advanced was located on federal authorities land, builders there should receive planning permits from the state authorities and adjust to its bodily planning legal guidelines.
“We’ve acted to cease the event of unapproved and unsafe buildings within the advanced.
“A livable, organised and sustainable surroundings is important to attaining our T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda,” Mr Olumide stated.
He stated that the advanced had an extended historical past of ignoring constructing laws and had did not cooperate with the federal government in its efforts to realize voluntary compliance.
In accordance with him, the state had, since November 2023, requested builders within the space to regularise their constructing approvals with the state Ministry of Bodily Planning and City Improvement, however many failed to take action.

The Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) reviews that the Lagos State Authorities had, on Thursday, demolished greater than 19 buildings on the New Mandela Plaza part of the advanced.
The federal government stated that the affected constructions have been both unapproved, structurally faulty, or constructed on street setbacks and drainage alignments.
The demolition, which concerned a number of state businesses and safety personnel, drew combined reactions from merchants, a few of whom complained of losses.
