Two male suspects, Ezema Onyedikachi (27) and Ugwu Chigozie Anthony (21), have been remanded in jail for allegedly stabbing and killing Nweze Chiebonam, popularly often known as “Energy Autos,” throughout a bonfire evening on the College of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
The Enugu State Police Command, in an announcement signed by its spokesperson, Daniel Ndukwe, mentioned the suspects have been arraigned on a two-count cost of conspiracy and homicide and have been positioned in correctional custody.
Police investigations revealed that the suspects initially left the occasion after a dispute over a scratched automobile, however later returned with a dagger and attacked Chiebonam.
“In the middle of the assault, Ezema Onyedikachi collected the dagger from Ugwu Anthony and fatally stabbed the sufferer within the chest. He was rushed to the hospital, the place he was confirmed useless. The dagger was recovered,” Ndukwe mentioned.
Commissioner of Police, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, described the incident as “unlucky and avoidable,” urging youths to embrace non-violent methods of resolving disputes.
