Tragedy struck yesterday as about 15 Jehovah’s Witness worshippers misplaced their lives in a deadly street crash at Awomama Bridge in Imo State.
The accident occurred at about 6:45 p.m. when a trailer driving towards site visitors collided with a bus carrying the victims. The worshippers, who have been from the Agwa group in Oguta Native Council, have been getting back from the annual Jehovah’s Witness Meeting Conference in Uli, Anambra State. All passengers within the bus reportedly died on the spot.
Their stays have been deposited in a morgue.
In the meantime, the Chairman of Oguta Native Council, Ifeanyi Nnani, expressed shock over the incident in a press release issued yesterday.
The assertion, signed by his aide, Orum Desmond, commiserated with the households of the deceased and prayed for God’s consolation and energy for them of their time of grief.
