President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Sunday, 12 October, for Rome, the capital of Italy, to take part within the Aqaba Course of Heads of State and Authorities Degree Assembly, with particular deal with the safety disaster in West Africa.
The assembly, which is able to start on 14 October, will carry collectively Heads of State and Authorities, senior intelligence and army officers from African international locations, and representatives of intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations to debate the evolving safety challenges in West Africa.
The Aqaba Course of Assembly is a counter-terrorism initiative launched by King Abdullah II of Jordan in 2015. It’s co–chaired by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Italian Authorities.
It recognises the advanced safety challenges confronting West Africa, together with the growth of terrorist networks, the rising crime-terror nexus and the growing overlap between land-based terrorism within the Sahel and the maritime piracy within the Gulf of Guinea.
On the assembly, individuals will trade assessments of the present safety panorama in West Africa and foster collaboration between regional and worldwide companions to handle cross-border safety challenges. Individuals will even develop methods to counter the fear risk on land and the ocean.

The President can be accompanied by the Minister of State for International Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu–Ojukwu, the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Abubakar, the Nationwide Safety Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, the Director-Common of the Nationwide Intelligence Company (NIA), Mohammed Mohammed, and different senior authorities officers.
