Human rights activist and former presidential candidate of the African Motion Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has introduced he’ll lead a protest march on October 20 to demand the discharge of the detained chief of the proscribed Indigenous Individuals of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Sowore disclosed this in a put up on his X deal with on Thursday, describing the deliberate demonstration as a “historic” march to the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.
“We now have a date for the historic #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest march to the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja. It’s October 20 at 7 am.,” Sowore wrote.
The activist had earlier on Wednesday stated he reached out to Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo; Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe; Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti; and Labour Social gathering’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to affix the protest.
“I’ve tried reaching out personally to Dr. @alexottiofr, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo @CCSoludo, and Mr @PeterObi (via his crew) at present. Alex Otti and Soludo neither took my calls nor responded to my messages. They promised to inform Mr. @PeterObi about our plans, though he’s at the moment travelling. I additionally reached out to Alhaji @AtikuAbubakar via his crew, whereas Senator @SenatorAbaribe stated he would return my name. I spoke with Obinna Agwuocha of the Home of Representatives. He was receptive and inspiring.
