The Sokoto State Ministry of Fundamental and Secondary Schooling has suspended six secondary college principals over alleged misconduct, together with the unauthorised assortment of charges for Junior Secondary Faculty examination outcomes.
The affected principals serve at Nana Ladies Secondary Faculty, Authorities Day Secondary Faculty (GDSS) Gagi, GDSS Mana, Giginya Memorial Faculty, Mana Fundamental Secondary Faculty, and GDSS Silame.
In an announcement, the ministry’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Iya, defined that some principals have been suspended over unlawful price assortment, whereas others have been sanctioned for alleged insubordination.
The Commissioner, Prof. Ahmad Ladan Ala, permitted the suspensions and constituted a five-member investigative panel to probe the allegations.
The panel is chaired by Prof. Mustapha Namakka Tukur and consists of representatives from the State Arabic and Islamic Schooling Board (AIEB), the Ministry’s High quality Assurance Division, the Academics’ Service Board (TSB), and the Planning Division.
The ministry directed the suspended principals to right away hand over obligations to their respective vice principals (administration).
