Niger State Police Command, yesterday, mentioned that it has traced and arrested three suspects, allegedly concerned in receiving and promoting rustled cattle stolen from Ibeto, in Mariga Native Authorities Space of the state.

The cows have been reportedly rustled lately from the group earlier than being moved throughout state strains.

In response to the Command, a legal grievance was lodged on November 13, 2025, prompting operatives of the State Legal Investigation Division (SCID), Minna, to start investigations. The operation led to the restoration of a number of the stolen cows in Lagos and Oyo states.

The arrested suspects have been recognized as Naziru Mustapha, 25, of Ogbomoso, Oyo State; Husseini Abubakar, 30, of Mariga however residing in Ogbomoso; and Kabiru Magaji, 40, additionally of Mariga and residing in Ogbomoso. Police mentioned all three have been linked to the illicit cattle dealings.

“Naziru and Husseini are alleged receivers of the rustled cattle, in whose possession eight cows have been discovered and verified by the rightful homeowners,” the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, mentioned.

He added that two different suspects, Bashar Sani and Ibrahim Tasiu, each from Mariga however based mostly within the Ogbomoso space of Oyo State, are at present at giant. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend them, whereas investigations proceed to determine further receivers and get better extra stolen cattle.
