The Zamfara Police Command says it has rescued twenty-five kidnapped individuals, primarily ladies and kids, seized by armed bandits in Kuraje group.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the rescue in an announcement issued in Gusau on Saturday.
Abubakar stated the bandits attacked Kuraje village within the Damba space of Gusau Native Authorities Space.
He stated the assault occurred on Friday at about 9:45 p.m., when armed bandits stormed the village firing photographs.
“In the course of the assault, the assailants kidnapped ten ladies and fifteen youngsters, all residents of the Kuraje group,” he stated.
He added that joint Police patrol groups and Group Safety Guards swiftly mobilised to the scene after receiving the misery name.
The groups confirmed the incident, pursued the fleeing bandits, and engaged them in what he described as a coordinated operation.
“Due to the professionalism and gallantry of the operatives, all twenty-five victims have been rescued unharmed,” Abubakar stated.
He famous that the victims have been moved to Sabongari, Damba, for security and correct profiling after the rescue.
“The rescued ladies and kids have since been reunited with their households,” the command stated.
The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Maikaba, praised the officers for his or her bravery, describing their efforts as commendable.
Maikaba assured the general public of the command’s continued dedication to defending lives and property throughout the state. (NAN)
