Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has rejected claims by The Osun Masterminds, TOM, a coalition of civil society organisations, accusing his administration of neglecting governance forward of the 2026 governorship election.
The group, in its November State-of-the-State tackle delivered by its Government Director, Prof. Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, alleged that the federal government had deserted key obligations in pursuit of political benefit.
In line with Oyedokun-Alli, governance within the state has suffered important setbacks, with the governor barely seen or heard as preparations for subsequent 12 months’s election intensify.
He additionally criticised the stalled recruitment of academics, describing the delay as a failed promise tossed to the wind.

Responding via his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke dismissed the allegations, describing TOM as a bunch funded by the APC and pushed by ulterior motives.
Rasheed accused Prof. Oyedokun-Alli of distorting information, claiming his current political ambitions, together with an unsuccessful bid to hitch the South West Growth Fee, had compromised his objectivity.
“Governance in Osun is operating seamlessly, and people obsessive about 2026 politics are the sponsors and patrons of TOM,” the assertion stated.
