Former Nationwide Commissioner of the Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee, INEC, Dr Mustapha Lecky, says the brand new Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan, SAN, will inherit the burden of reputational deficit and injury from the 2023 elections.
Dr Lecky made this assertion on Thursday whereas responding to questions in an interview on ‘Politics At present’, a programme on Channels Tv.
His remark is coming barely 12 hours after the Nationwide Council of State accepted the nomination of Amupitan from the North-Central as the brand new Chairman of INEC.
“INEC suffered an excessive amount of reputational deficit and injury from the final normal elections due to the best way the collation and declaration have been achieved.
“So, the newly appointed INEC chair, Amupitan, would inherit the burden of reputational deficit and injury from the 2023 elections,” he stated.
