The Nationwide Environmental Requirements and Laws Enforcement Company (NESREA) has destroyed 700 sacks of donkey elements handed over to it by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in Kaduna, in compliance with environmental laws and security protocols.

The train, which concerned the incineration of donkey bones and the burial of donkey skins, was carried out at two designated amenities in Kaduna underneath strict supervision by regulatory officers and in step with environmental requirements.

Talking throughout the train, the Director-Normal of NESREA, Prof. Harmless Barikor, lamented the declining inhabitants of donkeys in Nigeria, warning that the species is steadily going into extinction.

He reaffirmed the Federal Authorities’s dedication to ending the unlawful exploitation of animals and curbing wildlife trafficking.

Barikor mentioned the destruction was carried out safely and responsibly, noting that each one personnel concerned wore protecting gear and adopted procedures to reduce well being and environmental dangers.

“The operation was executed underneath strict security protocols to stop any environmental or well being hazards,” he acknowledged.

“This collaboration between NESREA and the Nigeria Customs Service marks a significant milestone in our struggle towards wildlife trafficking and the unlawful commerce in endangered species.”

He recalled that in July, NESREA incinerated over 100 luggage of donkey genitals handed over by the Customs Service in Abuja, stressing that such actions intention to discourage illicit commerce in wildlife elements.

The Director-Normal recommended the Nigeria Customs Service for its continued help in implementing environmental legal guidelines and defending endangered species.

Barikor famous that though donkeys are categorised as home animals, the rising demand for his or her elements for medicinal and aphrodisiac functions has pushed unlawful trafficking, prompting the Federal Authorities to problem an government order limiting their commercialization.
