Pan-African Parliament/former member of ECOWAS Parliament, Fatoumatta Njai, says it’s disheartening that 1 out of 4 ladies within the Nigerian Senate is going through one wrestle or the opposite.
Njai expressed her grievances on Wednesday whereas responding to questions in an interview on Come up Tv.
That is coming following the prevention of Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, from resuming within the Senate after the expiration of her six months’ suspension.
DAILY POST had reported that the Senate on Monday informed Natasha that she couldn’t resume but due to her pending case in court docket.
Reacting, the previous member of ECOWAS Parliament mentioned the matter being sub judice shouldn’t cease Senator Natasha from going again after serving her suspension for six months.
“I do know I’m not a Nigerian however I’m an African. I’m a Pan-Africanist and likewise, as a former member of ECOWAS Parliament, I do know slightly of how Nigerian politics is.
“I do know the struggles and the hurdles that ladies parliamentarians undergo to be elected, not to mention going to serve and having been denied that chance to serve,” she mentioned.
