He made the declaration in an announcement made out there to DAILY POST on Thursday.

DAILY POST studies that the Nationwide Meeting had proposed November 2026 for the following common elections.

He mentioned the Nationwide Meeting mustn’t put strain on the stakeholders amongst whom are political events, the intending candidates and INEC.

He added that election is a severe matter that requires ample preparations by the INEC, the political events and the candidates that may take part within the election.

“I urge the Nationwide Meeting to not transfer the 2027 elections to 2026. Election is a severe and vital subject for nationwide improvement. We don’t have to rush the political events, the intending candidates and the INEC into preparations.

“Election requires correct and ample planning. It will take time. Political events want ample time and funds to recruit candidates, whereas candidates in flip have to plan adequately.

“We can’t be in a perpetual election interval, governance is critical for the nation’s improvement.

“The Nationwide Meeting must be cautious of extreme adverse implications of bringing the 2027 election ahead to 2026,” he suggested.
