The Presidential Committee on the Overhaul and Revamp of Coaching Establishments for Safety Companies, chaired by Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has mentioned it’s working carefully with consultants to satisfy its deadline for submitting findings and a complete invoice of portions that can seize the whole value of refurbishing the nation’s safety coaching services for full implementation.
The peace of mind was given over the weekend when the eight-member committee inspected the Nigeria Police Coaching College in Nonwa-Tai, Rivers State, as a part of its nationwide evaluation of safety coaching establishments.
The committee, which was inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu at a gathering of the Nationwide Financial Council, was joined on the go to by Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, alongside the Secretary of the committee, IGP Baba Usman (rtd) and others.
The crew discovered the Nonwa-Tai coaching faculty in a state of abandonment and disrepair, with vandalised buildings, damaged infrastructure, and overgrown environment.
Addressing newsmen after the inspection, Governor Mbah mentioned the go to adopted Mr President’s directive to urgently assess and rehabilitate all police and safety coaching services throughout the nation.
He mentioned the President’s determination underscored his recognition that Nigeria’s safety challenges require instant and complete intervention.
Additionally talking, Governor Siminalayi Fubara described the go to as a step in direction of restoring professionalism and optimistic morale inside the police power.
“The president has made a daring assertion that he needs correctly skilled officers,” he mentioned. “This isn’t simply speak. I consider he means it. It’s not solely about fixing buildings; it’s about rebuilding morale and professionalism.”
Amplifying the seriousness of Mr President, Governor Dapo Abiodun mentioned the committee had been given 4 weeks to finish its task. He disclosed that the members had been divided into two teams, one overlaying coaching centres within the North and the opposite inspecting these within the South.
