Some defectors from different political events have formally joined the ruling All Progressives Get together, APC, in Oju Native Authorities Space of Benue State.
The ceremony which held on the Native Authorities Pavilion, Oju, marked a major political shift within the council.
Get together leaders, elders, and supporters stuffed the venue, marking what many described as a brand new chapter in Igede politics forward of the decisive 2027 basic elections.
Governor Alia’s level man and Majority Whip of the Benue State Home of Meeting, Cyril Ikong Ijebe, presided over the ceremony and was supported by the Benue Commissioner of Data, Chief Obo Egbodo and Steve Otumala Ogbu.
The Oju LGA chairman of APC, Joseph Otumala, praised the turnout, describing the mass defection as “a watershed second strengthening unity, belief, and renewed perception in purposeful growth.”
Chief Frank Alochu, who led the defectors, counseled President Bola Tinubu’s reforms and Governor Alia’s achievements, particularly the continued reconstruction remodeling Oju’s infrastructural panorama.
He emphasised that gratitude should replicate in political dedication, urging get together leaders to shut ranks, bury grudges, and work collectively, reminding them that “a divided home gathers no harvest.”
Distinguished defectors included Dr Isaac Egboja, Dr Emmanuel Eru, Ogah Omenka, Onaa Clement, Dr Susan Ogbaji, Chief Dan Onda, Sir Dan Okwoche and a number of other senior technocrats.
Help teams, youth our bodies, market communities, girls leaders and political veterans described the gathering as well timed proof that the grassroots now lean towards the APC’s rising affect.
Stakeholders from the three political zones within the space hailed Governor Alia for reconstructing the Achoho–Oju street, describing it as a long-awaited lifeline bringing reduction to the complete Igede nation.
They expressed their readiness to reward the Gov Alia administration’s efficiency with overwhelming electoral help, insisting the folks “know who’s working and who is simply speaking.”
The Member representing Oju/Obi Federal Constituency, David Ogewu, was conspicuously absent on the rally, elevating eyebrows amongst supporters and observers.
Many linked his absence to widening cracks between his faction and the governor’s construction.
