The Nationwide Working Committee, NWC, of the Accord Social gathering has dismissed the purported suspension of its Nationwide Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem.
An announcement by the Nationwide Publicity Secretary of the celebration, Joseph Omorogbe, on Friday described the transfer by a splinter faction as “laughable” and the handiwork of political jobbers in search of relevance.
Omorogbe said that the declare introduced at a stakeholders’ assembly in Keffi, Nasarawa State was spearheaded by former presidential candidate Chris Imumolen, whom the celebration insists had lengthy been expelled.
In response to him, the vote of no confidence was a joke taken too far, stressing that Imumolen merely craved low cost publicity to mislead unsuspecting members of the general public.
“Maxwell Mgbudem stays the genuine nationwide chairman of Accord, duly recognised by INEC and listed on the Fee’s web site.
“All members of the celebration are in a single accord and won’t be distracted by the actions of its expelled members and their sponsors, whose intention is to destabilise the celebration forward of the 2027 basic election.
“Accord, underneath the management of Mgbudem, has been reorganised and repositioned as a formidable progressive mass motion within the quest for a greater, higher and affluent democratic nation,” he said.
That is coming barely 24 hours after a faction of state chairmen from all 36 states met in Keffi, asserting Mgbudem’s suspension over alleged anti-party actions and naming Imumolen as nationwide chairman.
Nonetheless, the celebration management cited a Federal Excessive Courtroom judgment and accused the duo of colluding with exterior political actors within the Anambra governorship election—claims the mainstream management has now dismissed as fabrication.
