The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed a report claiming that the Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC) confirmed an inventory of its state chairmen throughout Nigeria.
In an announcement on Sunday, the get together’s Nationwide Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, described the circulating report titled “Coalition Replace: INEC Confirms ADC State Chairmen Nationwide” as “faux information” geared toward creating confusion inside the get together.
“The Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee, to one of the best of our data and verification, has issued no such affirmation, neither formally nor unofficially,” Abdullahi stated.
He defined that selecting and approving state leaders is the get together’s inner duty, not INEC’s.
“The method of constituting and ratifying state management inside any political get together lies squarely inside the get together’s constitutional prerogative. INEC solely acknowledges what the get together submits by the suitable channels after due course of,” he added.
Abdullahi urged ADC members and the general public to disregard the faux listing and anticipate official communication.
“We subsequently urge our members and stakeholders to stay calm, vigilant, and guided by official communication from the nationwide management of the ADC,” he stated.
He reassured supporters that the ADC stays dedicated to self-discipline, construction, and inner democracy, including that any real updates on get together management shall be shared by verified platforms.
