Gunmen have killed three law enforcement officials after ambushing a safety checkpoint in Kogi State.
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning in Egbe, a city in Yagba West Native Authorities Space close to the boundary with Kwara State.
Native residents mentioned the attackers opened hearth on the officers, resulting in a fierce gun battle.
“The assailants got here for his or her weapons, which they carted away. Three law enforcement officials died within the gun battle,” a witness instructed reporters.
Kogi State police spokesperson, William Aya, confirmed that the command misplaced three officers within the assault.
He mentioned the commissioner of police, Miller Dantawaye, had deployed a tactical response crew to the ares.

“I can verify to you that three officers on responsibility had been killed right this moment in Egbe, a border neighborhood with Kwara State,” Mr Aya mentioned.
