A former two-time Senator who represented Edo South senatorial district, Ehigie Uzamere has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Occasion.

Uzamere was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Occasion, PDP, in his first tenure in 2007 and reelected on the platform of the Motion Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in 2011.
