The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has urged the general public to not decide it by the result of the current by-elections held throughout 16 constituencies.
DAILY POST reviews that the elections have been held on Saturday, August 16, to switch lawmakers who died or resigned after the 2023 basic elections.
Recall that the ADC did not safe any seat after the announcement by the Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee, INEC, because the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, gained 12 of the 16 seats throughout 9 states.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, bought two seats in Anambra, the Peoples Democratic Celebration, PDP, gained one seat in Oyo, whereas the New Nigeria Peoples Celebration, NNPP, claimed one seat in Kano.
That includes on ‘Politics At the moment’, a programme on Channels Tv on Wednesday, spokesman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, attributed the social gathering’s efficiency to the timing of the election and the ADC’s degree of preparedness.
“We’ve defined it, we’ve issued a press release, we’ve talked about it a number of instances. For us, the election occurred lower than a month after we got here into the social gathering. Many of the candidates, we didn’t even know, and that’s why we stated we can’t decide the ADC by that.
“You’re simply speaking about us transitioning into establishing our actual management at the moment. So, the by-election that you just talked about occurred too early by way of transition for the social gathering. So, we don’t need to be judged by the result of that election; there are different elections coming, and we might be prepared for these,” he stated.
