“The ruling APC believes in intimidating the opposition into submission. No democracy survives with out opposition. The APC is killing Nigeria’s democracy by muzzling dissent.”

Wabara attributed the defections to not the APC’s superiority however to what he described as “a deliberate ambush of democracy.”

“APC’s refusal to hold out electoral reforms that might assure free and credible polls is what’s making a few of the opposition members defect. That is extra of coerced defection,” he added.

The PDP BoT Chairman argued that the APC has not proven the capability to rescue the nation from its financial and governance challenges.

“Nigerians know very effectively that there’s nothing engaging within the APC. It was by no means ready for governance, and that’s the reason it has continued to oversee the erosion of our democratic values.

Since grabbing energy in 2015, the APC has superintended Nigeria’s retrogression. Poverty and financial hardship will stand out as its best legacies,” he stated.

Wabara additional claimed that PDP governors leaving the celebration have carried out higher than their APC counterparts however are defecting primarily to guard their political futures.

He, nevertheless, maintained that their exit wouldn’t result in the collapse of the PDP.

“That just a few people determined to depart doesn’t imply the plenty have left us. The PDP stays in style amongst Nigerians as a result of they understand how the PDP incubated and preserved our democracy,” he said.

“Nigerians can take this to the financial institution: PDP won’t die. We now have come a great distance and can surmount the present storm.”

Wabara urged celebration members, particularly within the South East, to stay steadfast, expressing confidence {that a} brighter future awaits the PDP forward of the 2027 basic elections.
