The Nigeria Customs Service, Kano Space Command, has seized 261,750 capsules of Polyglycine (300mg) and 228,700 tablets of Tramadol hydrochloride (225mg) alongside the Kano-Daura axis.
The Comptroller, Dalhatu Abubakar, handed over the seized objects and suspect to the Deputy Commander NDLEA in Kano, Mohammed Maiaduwa, on Thursday in Kano.
He stated the substances have been hid in 5 jumbo agro sacks.
Based on him, the suspect allegedly supplied N455,500 as a bribe to the officers.
Abubakar warned in regards to the wider social implications of drug abuse, linking it to violence, crimes, immorality, financial loss, and insecurity within the area.
The comptroller stated the seizure was made consistent with sections 55C and 234 of the Nigerian Customs Service Act 2023, which mandates the safety of public well being and prohibits the possession of smuggled items.
The Commander of Narcotics on the Nationwide Drug Legislation Enforcement Company (NDLEA), Maiaduwa, stated the company would proceed with investigations and prosecute these discovered wanting.
