A Lagos Justice of the Peace Court docket sitting in Ebute-Metta has ordered the case file of a Nationwide Union of Highway Transport Employees (NURTW) member, Shamusideen Oladiti, to be forwarded to the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for authorized recommendation, following widespread public outrage over a viral video of his alleged assault.

Oladiti, a 55-year-old, was docked earlier than Justice of the Peace A. O. Akinde on a three-count cost bordering on illegal murder, conspiracy, and grievous assault.

The Nigerian Police filed the fees in opposition to him following an alleged violent assault on August 27, 2025, at Lewis Avenue, Lagos Island, the place he was mentioned to have overwhelmed Imam Ramon with repeated fist blows.

Ramon later died from the accidents at Lagos Island Common Hospital, Marina.

The defendant was additionally alleged to have conspired with others nonetheless at giant to commit felony on September 17, 2025, and of individually assaulting one other sufferer, Omale Samuel, inflicting grievous hurt.

Though the fees have been learn in courtroom, Oladiti’s plea was not taken.

The prosecutor, Superintendent of Police Anthony Iyeye of the Authorized/Prosecution Part, Panti, Yaba, with ASP Johnson Olumuyiwa of D27 SCID, Yaba, listed because the Investigating Police Officer (IPO).

The Justice of the Peace Akinde subsequently directed that the case file be duplicated and despatched to the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) inside 30 days for recommendation on prosecution and subsequently adjourned the case to October 28, 2025.
