The Peoples Democratic Social gathering, PDP, has described the Rivers State Home of Meeting members who defected from the celebration to the All Progressives Congress, APC, as enemies of democracy in Nigeria.
Comrade Ini Ememobong, PDP Nationwide Publicity Secretary, stated the lawmakers are doing the bidding of their demigod and paymasters.
In an announcement he issued, Ememobong stated the motion of the lawmakers would go down in historical past as a mockery of the legislative arm of presidency.
On Friday, 17 lawmakers of the Rivers State Home of Meeting dumped the PDP for the APC.
The lawmakers have been led by the Speaker, Martin Amaewhule, who introduced their defection throughout plenary.
Amaewhule blamed the factionalization inside the PDP for the event.
He instructed lawmakers he had formally notified his ward chairman of his exit from the PDP, including that he had already joined the APC.
Condemning the motion of the Rivers lawmakers, PDP stated, “We now have seen on varied media platforms information of the defection of some members of the Rivers State Home of Meeting, who, for a second time, introduced their defection from our celebration.
“We recall that that they had accomplished so earlier and later recanted. These are individuals whom the world is conscious are doing the bidding of their paymaster and demigod.
“They’ll go down in historical past as enemies of democracy and those that made mockery of the legislature.”
