Former Edo State Governor and Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has urged the brand new Chairman of the Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC) to make sure that people with political ties, particularly spouses of politicians, will not be appointed to delicate positions inside the fee.
Oshiomhole made the decision through the Senate screening of the brand new INEC Chairman, citing private experiences from Edo State for example of how conflicts of curiosity can undermine the credibility of elections.
He mentioned, “One final level, an expertise we had in Edo State, as a result of the Senate President mentioned we should always communicate from our personal experiences. In response to the previous governor, such appointments blur the road between partisan politics and electoral administration, creating room for manipulation.

He urged the incoming INEC management to create clear insurance policies that may forestall such conflicts from occurring sooner or later.
