ABUJA: The Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee INEC has expressed concern over the rising resort to early campaigns by politicians and their surrogates in clear violation of extant legal guidelines.
INEC nationwide commissioner and Chairman, Board of The Electoral Institute TEI, Prof. Abdullahi Zuru disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja at a stakeholders roundtable convened to look at ‘The Challenges of Untimely Political Campaigns”.
In response to him, early campaigns at the moment are disguised as “appreciation” or “philanthropy”, completed by way of billboards, social media and even in bodily gatherings.
