Writer of Ovation Journal, Dele Momodu, says the one manner the opposition can defeat President Bola Tinubu within the 2027 presidential election is by zoning the presidency to the Muslim North and the vice presidency to the Christian South.

Momodu said this on Friday whereas responding to questions in an interview on Come up Tv, monitored by DAILY POST.

He stated President Tinubu had already locked down the South, making it nearly not possible for any southern presidential candidate to compete successfully towards him.

“It’s apparent that the ruling authorities has already turned this into an ethnic battle, and it’s going to be a battle of North versus South.

“That’s the reason you noticed PDP and APC apparatchiks all struggling to insist {that a} candidate should come from the South. They know that President Tinubu has already locked down the South, and no person — not Peter Obi, not Goodluck Jonathan, will have the ability to meet up with him the place he’s proper now,” he stated.

Based on him, President Tinubu’s immense monetary assets and management of state buildings give him a serious benefit, including that solely a strategic counterbalance from the North may tilt the steadiness in favour of the opposition.

The previous presidential candidate additionally dismissed the notion that such zoning would undermine equity or the precept of energy rotation, arguing that the thought of an eight-year flip for the North and South was not enshrined within the Nigerian Structure.
