Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has dismissed experiences suggesting that he plans to step apart for one more presidential aspirant, saying such claims are false and deceptive.
Atiku’s Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, made this clarification in a press release on Thursday, October 2, 2025, following reactions to the BBC Hausa interview granted by the previous Vice President.
Based on Ibe, each the video and transcripts of the interview in Hausa and English have been reviewed, and “at no level did the previous Vice President expressly state, counsel, and even suggest that he intends to step down for anybody.”
He confused that Atiku solely spoke on the potential for younger folks becoming a member of the race.
“What Atiku Abubakar clearly and unambiguously stated was that younger folks, in addition to different potential presidential aspirants, are free to enter the competition.
